 LC 4000 High Resolution Imaging Photometer

Instrument Systems new high resolution Imaging Photometer designated the LC 4000  has a high-resolution CCD sensor with 3980 (H) x 2660 (V) effective pixels each of which is assigned a measured luminance value as well as the associated color coordinates determined with the help of an internal filter system. This allows the new LumiCam 4000 Color to be used for any applications involving colorimetric evaluation of a test specimen.

The LumiCam 1300 Camera system was developed specifically to meet the sophisticated needs of manufacturers and OEM customers who take measurements at displays and at panel graphics in automotive and avionic applications. The LumiCam 4000 is designed to allow a wide angle of view with the same resolution as the LumiCam 1300. Even complex luminance distributions with very high brightness differences such as those found on multifunction displays can be measured accurately by using the multiple exposure feature. The measuring range of the system covers 0.01 to 200,000 cd/m².

The sum total of the measuring points captured with the CCD sensor is displayed as a luminance image on the computer. As with the LC 1300 a range of powerful software tools is implemented for further analysis. The software allows users to determine the average, maximum, and minimum luminance for user definable areas of the test specimen. Contrast ratios are also calculated. In addition, convenient analysis of the homogeneity of luminance and color distribution is possible using the cross-sectional profile function. LumiCam software also offers the option of illustrating the luminance image in various false-color representations or generating 3D views. Users can create their own pass/fail criteria by varying the color palette definition. Professional report functions complete the LumiCam Software package.

Apart from the Windows software for lab applications, Instrument Systems also supplies Windows-DLL and LabView drivers for customer-specific software development.
